New at The History Project: The Measured Circle’s Star Wars Timeline (a long time ago and everything in between)

New at The History Project: The Measured Circle’s Star Wars Timeline (a long time ago and everything in between)

Today, May 25th 2017, is the 40th anniversary of the opening of the original Star Wars movie in the USA! May the Fortieth be with you!**

I remember seeing it in its first run (and no, that wasn’t the Kessel run) and it’s been part of pop culture ever since. There have been movies, TV shows, videogames, toys, music, books, parodies…an absolutely giant and diverse universe!

I’m excited to announce my latest The Measured Circle project, launching today!

The Measured Circle’s Star Wars Timeline (a long time ago and everything in between)

This is my third project at

The History Project

after

The Measured Circle’s King Kong Timeline (a short history of a tall ape)

and the original

The Measured Circle’s Geek Time Trip (TMCGTT)

More than ever, I could use your help with this one! Once you sign up for a free account with THP, you can contribute to open projects like mine. It’s subject to my moderation, but there are literally thousands of events which could be added to TMCSWT…and you can be part of it!

I’m also doing an Amazon Giveaway in honor of the 40th anniversary (this is separate from TMCSWT…you can enter just by following @TMCGTT on Twitter through Amazon’s free process):

Start:May 4, 2017 6:32 AM PDT

It’s going on that long in part so that it covers the actual 40th anniversary of Star Wars (of the release in the USA) on May 25th 2017. Also, this book, which has good reviews and is new, is $14.99 in the Kindle edition…which is a lot for me for a giveaway. More than 500 people have already entered at time of writing.

Good luck, and may the Force be with you!

This post by Bufo Calvin originally appeared in the The Measured Circle blog. To support this or other blogs/organizations, buy Amazon Gift Cards from a link on the site, then use those to buy your items. There will be no cost to you, and a benefit to them.

* I am linking to the same thing at the regular Amazon site, and at AmazonSmile. When you shop at AmazonSmile, half a percent of your purchase price on eligible items goes to a non-profit you choose. It will feel just like shopping at Amazon: you’ll be using your same account. The one thing for you that is different is that you pick a non-profit the first time you go (which you can change whenever you want)…and the good feeling you’ll get. :) Shop ’til you help! :)

** Thanks to Chris Dudley for this pun!
