New series tonight: Thundercats, Iron Man, Wolverine
If you said, “Thundercats…who?” don’t worry, there are three new animated series starting tonight.
Thundercats is a reboot of the 1980s series about humanoid cat people…each one basically representing a real-life big cat species. They are led by Lion-O and fight bad guys on another planet.
I remember it being a bit more complex than that makes it sound. 🙂
The voice cast is interesting. I think of Will Friedle as a voice artist (Ron Stoppable, Batman in Batman Beyond), although you may know him from his face work as Eric Matthews on Boy Meets World.
When you say “Clancy Brown”, my first thought is still Buckaroo Banzai, then probably Highlander, then…Earth 2, I’d say. He’s probably been heard more as Mr. Krabs on SpongeBob SquarePants, but he’s done a lot of both face and voice work (I know, you Carnivale fans…I was just listing what hits me first).
There are other really solid voice actors on the show…and in a nice touch, Larry Kenny, the original Lion-O, voices Lion-O’s father.
It debuts tonight at 8PM on Cartoon Network.
The voice artists on the two Marvel anime superhero series debuting on G4 at 11 (Iron Man) and 11:30 (Wolverine) on G4.
I’d should say, the voices on the American version. As i understand it, Marvel basically turned four of their properties over to anime studio Madhouse (Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Trigun) and let them create a parallel Japanese Marvelverse.
We’ll see if they played it safe, or if we really see something different.
As to those voice actors: the two leads tonight are former stars of Heroes: Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli) voices Iron Man, and his TV brother Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli) is Wolverine.
