Where are the 1980s TV stars? At The Hub!
Been missing Family Ties, The Fall Guy, and Star Trek: The Next Generation?
Stars from all three will be on The Hub, a new cable channel launching on Trip Ten day (10-10-10…Tenth of October, 2010).
The channel itself is interesting: it’s a joint venture between Disney (because they clearly don’t have enough cable channels) 😉 and Hasbro, the toy maker. That’s pretty up front, right?
What caught my eye in some of the casting was the appearance of some major 1980s TV stars.
Michael Gross and Meredith Baxter provide voices in Dan Vs. That’s right, it’s a mini-Keaton family reunion!
This one is a little more obscure, but Markie Post and Lee Majors have voice roles, but not in the same series. Quick! What show were they on together in the 1980s? Not the Six Million Dollar Man…not Night Court…that’s right, it’s The Fall Guy!
The hottest voice cast might be for Pound Puppies. They’ve snagged Betty White, Eric McCormack, Michael Rapaport, and Rene Auberjonois (that’s your ST:TNG castmember).
Of course, I could have picked shows out of the 1990s or 1970s as well. Michael Rapaport (mentioned above) and Paget Brewster give us a Friends guest arc reunion. Clancy Brown was a star of Earth 2, which was another hyped (if not necessarily iconic) 1990s series.
I suspect some of you may be more excited about the shows and the toys on which some of them are based. Transformers, My Little Pony, and G.I. Joe, among others.
They’ll have some other interesting properties as well, including reruns of Doogie Howser and Wonder Years, and a new series based on Clue.
