Monday, August 2

On TV, we get: it’s Shark Week on the Discovery Channel; a Man Crab attacks in Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated on the Cartoon Network; we also get new Cartoon Network eps of Johnny Test, Adventure Time, and Flapjack; PBS does a special called Video Games Live, with a symphony orchestra and rock musicians playing live to classic video games; there’s a new Cake Boss on TLC; Fox has a new Lie to Me; American Pickers visit a psychic picker on the History Channel; season debut of Scream Queens (the horror star wannabe reality show) on VH1; Bio debuts a new series with William Shatner, where he looks at famous events in the past; MTV has a new ep of Warren the Ape

Tuesday, August 3

On TV: there’s a new Unnatural History on the Cartoon Network; G4 has a new ep of It’s Effin’ Science; Syfy has a new Warehouse 13; the post-apocalyptic simulation, The Colony, continues on Discovery (do they face mustated sharks?) 😉

Tuesday’s books include: second book in the Red Hot Chili Samurai the manga series by Yoshitsugu Katagiri; the fourth volume in the Priest series  by Min-Woo Hyung (this series is going to be a major movie in 2011, with Paul Bettany, Maggie Q, and Stephen Moyer from True Blood, among others); 

Wednesday, August 4

On TV: two new eps of Rebel Monkeys on NatGeo; Syfy has a new ep of Ghost Hunters International; Wonders of the Universe has its series debut on Science; Criss Angel kicks off his sixth season on A&E; USA brings us a new ep of Psych

Thursday, August 5

On TV, we get: a new ep of Burn Notice on USA; the History Channel has a new ep of The Universe; Syfy gives us a new Fact or Faked; there’s a new Futurama on Comedy Central; Showtime gives us a new Penn and Teller ep; the new series, Stan Lee’s Superhumans, has its series debut on the History Channel (a search for people who are superior mutants, apparently); Syfy also gives us a new ep of Mary Knows Best, its reality show about a psychic

Cons* starting today include: Gencon, a four-day gaming con in Indianapolis; the International Mars Society Convention in Dayton, Ohio;

Friday, August 6

On TV, there’s: is a new of Eureka on Syfy, followed by a new ep of Haven

Cons* starting today include: Bitten, a True Blood con in Northamptonshire, England; Monroeville, Pennsylvania hosts the Steel City con (comics, pop culture, toys)

Saturday, August 7

Cons* starting today include:

On TV: Persons Unknown is in the final stretch on NBC; there’s a new to BBC America episode of Being Human; Celebrity Ghost Stories on Bio includes Paulina Porizkova; Dean Cain and Lucy Brown (of Primeval) star in Frost Giant on Syfy (gee, was the channel a surprise?) 😉 ; Bio also brings us a new ep of My Ghost Story

Sunday, August 8

On TV: there’s new Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime; ABC has a new ep of The Gates; True Blood has a new ep on HBO;
