Frank Frazetta reported dead

Frank Frazetta taught us that cover art was truly art.   His covers for the Conan paperbacks, especially, were iconic.  Geeks like me might even say that something looked like it was “straight out of Frazetta”.

Frazetta images tend to be…heroic, like statues.  Even action scenes seem carved from marble, in some way.  There is always a power radiating from the image, a…majesty.

A painting of his recently sold for one million dollars, but they had already inspired a million fantasies.
