Flash! Russian MP asks Medvedev to investigate head of World Chess fed…for talking to aliens
Oh, where to start on this one? 😉
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is the head of the Republic of Kalmykia, which is a predominantly Buddhist part of Russia.
He’s also the President of FIDE, the World Chess Federation, for about fifteen years. He’s a huge promoter of chess.
But wait, that’s not all…he reportedly claims to have spoken with aliens in his Moscow apartment.
Yes, those kind of aliens…the E.T. kind (but we won’t have a big discussion about the extraterrestrial hypothesis versus others right now).
Now, that would probably have been enough to justify a post.
However, it may help if you know that UFOs have been big news in Russia for some time. I’m willing to say that it might even be politically risky to call Ilyumzhinov a liar about the alien thing there.
Reportedly, Andrei Lebedev, another Russian MP has instead asked President Medvedev to make a statement as to whether or not Ilyumzhinov might have exposed state secrets to the aliens. And, you know, whether or not there is official protocol when government officials chat with aliens.
“Da…you will fill out form 27D. Were any gestures used? Did you observe any weapons? Describe any variations from humans…”
