John Forsythe reported dead
John Forsythe, he of the suave voice, has reportedly died at age 92.
He may be most associated with the unseen owner of the Charles Townsend Agency. Although his full name was Charles, they called his operatives Charlie’s Angels. He voiced the character in the original series, and repeated the role in the Drew Barrymore versions.
Others may think of him as Blake Carrington, on Dynasty (and the spin-off, The Colbys).
If you were watching TV in the 1960s, it might be Benchley Gregg, Bachelor Father that comes to mind.
Less well-known may be his role as an anti-gargoyle politician (Pat Doyle) on the cult-pop cartoon series, Gargoyles.
“Good night, Charlie.”
